Transforming Growth Factor-Beta3 (TGF-β3)
Transforming Growth Factor-β3
Transforming Growth Factor-β 3 (TGF- β3) is a member of the TGF-β3 superfamily and regulates diverse cellular phenotypes. The three mammalian isoforms of TGF-β, TGF-β1, β2, and β3, signal through the same receptor and elicit similar biological responses. TGF-beta 3 binds to serine-threonine kinase type I and II receptors and activates signal transduction through SMAD2/3 proteins, thus regulating a variety of functions, including cell proliferation, differentiation, wound healing, apoptosis, and metabolism (Massagué; McDowell et al.). They are secreted predominantly as latent complexes, which are stored at the cell surface and in the extracellular matrix.
TFG- β3 Human recombinant protein produced in E.coli is a disulfide-linked homo-dimeric, non-glycosylagted, polypeptide chain containing two 113 amino acid chains and having a total molecular mass of 25.8kDa The TGF- β3 is purified by standard chromatographic techniques.
